The Graduate Employability Management Scheme (GEMS) programme was launched on 13th March 2009 by Y.A.B Dato’ Seri Mohd Najib Tun Abdul Razak, after announcing this scheme be part of the RM 7 billion stimulus package as part of the programme to mobilise the country’s human capital towards supporting economic growth.

The Graduate Employability Management Scheme (GEMS) is an evolution from the Graduate Employability Enhancement (GREEN) programme, a programme internally developed and implemented by Khazanah Nasional Berhad since 2006 with the support of Government-linked companies (GLCs).

The idea was to develop GEMS based on GREEN’s proven effective framework, which has significant achievements in enhancing the employability of graduates, but on a larger scale.

To date, GEMS has successfully trained over 9,071 graduates.
